In case you’re just joining me on the Crochet Along, Esther from It’s all in a Nutshell put together this gorgeous project and I jumped in! The squares she chose are amazing and I’m learning a ton of new techniques! If you’d like to take a look at my previous squares, click here to go back to Week one.
This week I got to work on a wonderful pattern, “In Like A Lamb, Out Like a Lion” by Margaret MacInnis. It is a paid pattern unless you do it through the Nuts About Squares Crochet Along. The design is beautiful and once again, very worthy of an entire afghan.
This colorway is my favorite this week. I just love the toned down colors with the pop of rose in there. The charcoal frames it perfectly. In fact, I love the borders on the pattern itself.
This is my least favorite colorway this week. I really dislike the teal edged with rose and then encased in the black, it just makes it so garish. The teal and pink border is also a little disappointing for me.
Square 3 isn’t so bad on colors. Once again, I’m not a fan of the black and think it would’ve looked much better. Of course, all of this is my fault, not the designs. Next CAL, I’ll decide what colors to use in each square instead of following a color chart for different yarns. Had I used the suggested colors, or gone off chart, it wouldn’t have been an issue.
But the different colors to bring all the squares together, so there is that. Here’s our favorite part and there’s only three more squares to add to it before we get to see them all! Week 12 is the very last week of designs (I’m halfway through those squares now) and hopefully, I’ll get to show you them all joined and even possibly bordered by the end of November!!

Keep creating. I know I will!
